Tryin' to Catch Me Ridin' Dirty

Hey guys! Just wanted to show you what Mitch got me for Valentine's Day. It came a couple days late (took about a week to get here), plus I had to paint the frame that it's in, but here it is: this print (from this Etsy shop).

I've had my eye on this fun print for a while. Not sure where I first spotted it, but I then pinned it to my "art board" on Pinterest. Mitch was rackin' his brain as to what to get me for V-day and knew I was crushing on it (plus he stalks my Pinterest boards for gift ideas), so he pulled the trigger and ordered it for me. I seriously love it. It makes me smile and I start humming whenever I see it. I told Mitch something like this makes the perfect gift: it's something that I love but didn't want to necessarily buy for myself, ya know what I mean?

Isn't it perfect right there? This used to be my baking station...someday I'll show you the one Mitch made for me (It's on wheels. And I told you about it like a year ago and never finished it...ugh. One of these days...) But this spot is where my mixer always is and it just looks like the print was made to be neighbors with my Kitchen Aid. Love LOVE it. BTW, I painted the frame (one we had on hand) Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal (leftover from the barnwood table base). I think it complements the print nicely. Black would have been too stark of a contrast and white would have blended in too much with the subway tile backsplash (in my humble opinion, anyway).

Now the song's stuck in your head, isn't it? :)

Have a great weekend, guys! We're heading down to FL tomorrow to visit my folks. You can follow MLST on Facebook for updates...I promise there will be no snow shots. There better not be, anyway.

  1. Kat! I thought the song in my head would go away over night, but nope still stuck with me!! That is the perfect piece of art for you and for your kitchen. We are working on our kitchen now - and I would love that print but I would never be able to shake the song. Great choice on the frame. I LOVE that shade of gray. Works really well on the table and looks great with the Dragon's Breath color on your door.
