How 'bout a Little Giveaway?

So guess what today is??

A. The year's most depressing day
B. The day before a major cold front
C. Just another Manic Monday
D. My 500th blog post
E. The day that I made Mitch eat leftover spaghetti for lunch from like two weeks ago
F. All the above

If you chose F, you're correct! And just for clarification, I didn't make him eat it; I simply heated it up and stuck it in front of him. He had no choice and was none the wiser AND now my fridge is somewhat cleared out. Win/win.

So, yeah, 500 blog posts...that's the one I want to focus on today. Pretty cray-cray, right? So I thought I'd do a little giveaway here on the blog to celebrate and make this day less depressing. So here it is:

This Old House Magazine

I'm giving away a one year subscription to This Old House magazine! Why This Old House, you ask? Um...well, this is why. We're kinda fans. So how to enter:

For one entry, leave a comment telling me what kind of house is your dream house i.e. rancher (yeah, baby!), old farmhouse, Arts and Crafts style, mid-century modern, a van down by the river, etc.

For another entry "share" this post on FB, Twitter, or any other social media outlet that might have popped up within the last 24 hours. And leave another comment saying you did.

BTW, I'd love if you'd follow MLST on FB, Twitter, etc., but I won't make it a requirement for the giveaway.

I'll pick a wiener (yes, that was intentional) on Friday, January 10 at 5:00.

*This giveaway is open to all my US and Canada readers only. Sorry, GBers. Still totally love you though.

  1. I would like to live in a gambrel roofed house that looks like a barn with a passageway hooked onto the barn for the New England winters....lol...sorry I don't have twitter or facebook, but thought I would tell you anyway...

  2. One day when we're done with school and out of DC I'd love to move home to Pennsylvania and buy an old farmhouse and spend the next couple of decades fixing it up. Now we live in 500 square feet but a girl can dream...

  5. I don't know why, because usually I would have said farmhouse, or 2 story traditional, but lately I have been oohing and aahing over Tudor style...........

  8. Well since I am in the early planning stages of building our dream house, I would have to say it's a lovely mix between farmhouse meets Arts and Crafts with a Cape Cod layout. How's that for confusing? :)

  9. My dream house would be a log cabin. I've been saving plans and dreaming about it since I was a teenager.

  14. I've always wanted a farmhouse. With big old trees around it and wind chimes in those trees and a porch swing… sigh*

  15. I love the look of 1920's bungalows! But really, I'll take anything! haha Spoken like a true renter...

  16. It would be hard to pick just one dream house when there are so many styles I admire. Maybe a 1-story, modern cottage of some sort? :)

  17. I really like the look of 1920s Tudor homes or Colonial ones. But only if they've been totally renovated with new electricity, etc... :)

  18. Wow! Ixd love to covert an old barn into an amazing home. Huge fireplaces, giant wood beam, a kick butt kitchen, possibly overlooking a mosquito-free lake, with plenty of horses grazing on endless grass. Several basset hounds would be needed to complete the dream, along with some chickens.

  23. thanks for offering this! I love the mcm look, but not too themey. I don't need to look like I live in a mad men episode.

  24. I just love a house with character. Not sure what style that would fit into. I love homes with nooks and crannies, arches, vaulted ceilings, beams. Houses with porches and gables and lots of trim. The house I bought didn't have as much character as I would have loved but I've been trying to give it some more every day!

  26. Well I would love an old farmhouse. But since I live in Alaska that's just not practical. So I would love a Monolithic dome house. Energy efficient, snow shedding roof...yes it's practical. :)

  28. I can happily say I am living in my dream house which is an old 1800's farmhouse. I wouldn't mind if it were a bit more updated but that will come in time. But since I never got to live out my high school and college dream of owning a VW vanagon or even a bus, I will admit that when the kids are grown I would love to hippy it out by owning one of those gems and traveling this beautiful country without a care in the world.
