Christmas Around Our House

Just some shots from around our home today...
This is our entry.

See that wooden box on the bottom shelf there? Mitch made it for me for my birthday. (it's made from old barnwood)

Last year I shied away from using red. This year I've embraced it.
Our wee tree. (I reused the salt-dough ornaments I made last year.)

I love this antique hemp rope I picked up last year at a yard sale. I'm so stoked that I could incorporate it finally into our decor. This won't be the last time you're seeing this...just gotta think of an awesome way to use this thing. (a "cord" for a pendant light, perhaps? Me and my lights...I know.)

Here's our simple mantelscape with a collection of lanterns we have. The red one is a recent acquisition...isn't it so cute? (I'm short one stocking holder...gotta get on that.)

Festive dining room (more pics here)

The other space that was decorated for Christmas was the boys' room. They have their very own tree to decorate.

Hope you all have a great weekend. Mine will be filled with last minute shopping, finishing up some projects, and a Christmas program at church. 'Tis the season, right? :)
