Just Call Me a Pillow Hoarder

Don't know if you've noticed, but I have a thing for pillows. So whenever I see one (or better yet, a matching pair) while I'm out and about on my thrifting adventures, I'm tempted to throw it in my cart. Many times I resist the urge. Last night, I didn't. I was at Goodwill and saw a matching pair of Nautica down-insert pillows. They were only $3 each, people. Can you blame me?

I buy down-inserted ones cause they just look nicer than their poly-stuff counterparts. They're more pliable--you can fluff them back up when they flatten. And of course there's the karate chop look you can give them if you so desire (which designers either forbid or encourage you to do, depending on the designer). Not sure if I'll keep the pillow covers or swap them out. That's not why I bought them. I can always get a new's that squishy feathery insert I'm after. I shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy. Come here, Squishy. Come here, little Squishy. (name that movie)

I got this cute little domed marble cheese plate at a yard sale for 50 cents. Yay for marble and yay for glass domes that will no doubt get dropped on the floor.

A few other little trinkets...

And sometimes I get things just cause there's just so darn cheap. (Okay, that makes up for about 90% of my purchases. Whatever.) Take this tiny vase, for example. It was 10 cents. 10 stinkin' cents, people! Who would even take the time to put a 10 cent sticker on it? I'll take that off your hands, thankyouverymuch.

I posted a picture of this sturdy basket on FB the other day. I found a home for it.

It's now containing all the boys' library books. Perfect.

I wanted to incorporate the basket into my kitchen somehow, kinda like what Ina did in her kitchen. See that ginormous basket right next to her island? It holds her bakeware. I love that idea. But alas, my kitchen is like 1/8th the size of Ina's. Plus I have a new baking station at the end of my island (which I gotta finish so I can show you guys!)

Speaking of the library, gotta give a shout out to my boy Ry for completing the summer reading program at our local library. He clocked in 5 hours of reading time and is ready to claim his prizes today:) It was only semi-torturous urging him to finish this up.

Can't believe summer is almost over! Man alive. Hope you're enjoying yours.
