Thrifting Treasures

I haven't done a post about thrift store finds recently. Mainly because I haven't been thrifting in a while...toting around three little boys on a shopping excursion isn't my idea of a great time, but I did do some shopping this week and got some cool stuff.

Picked up three of these chairs at GW for $2.97 a piece. We're doing a "kids' table" for a Christmas get-together this year and thought they'd be perfect for that job. Plus, I have a weakness for chairs.

I LOVE that there's some history stamped on the backs of them too. These chairs belonged to the Lititz Moravian Church which was started way back in 1749. It has quite a history! One of the buildings on the property was used as a military hospital during the Revolutionary War. How cool is that? So I have a little piece of local history and you know this history-lovin' girl is eatin' that right up:)

Next, I finally got a cake stand. I've been wanting one for a while now but just never bit the bullet. This one is an oldie (which I love even more) and it's unique--it has a metal carrier handle that attaches on the sides of the plate. Cute, right? It was only $3.50. Can't wait to pile up some goodness on it.

Just picked this demijohn up today. It's also an oldie. Got it for $3.

This is what I have in mind for mine--in a collection on top of our dining room cabinet. Love the eclectic look.

Oh and I have to show you my new boots:) I got some money for my birthday and decided to splurge on a pair of Uggs. Here they be. They're so stinkin' comfy and stinkin' cute too.

Have you been thrifting lately? Find anything good? I still have to get Mitch some thrift store gifts for Christmas...darn it, guess I have to go shopping again;)

  1. Those chairs are fantastic! I totally have a thing for chairs too -- my husband does NOT understand this! :)

  2. Thank you for your interesting blog. I love to watch your photos with antique furniture and read their history. But to these wooden chairs I was filled with special love. They're amazing.
