Weekend Projects

Here's a little update on what's going on around our house. We're knocking off a lot of little projects these days including installing our new hall light, touch up painting, and odd and end jobs here and there. I'm so excited to report that Mitch hanged our Roman blind this weekend! Here she is:

It makes me happy every time I walk into my kitchen. It's that pop of color we needed in our all-white kitchen.

Another project we tackled this weekend was getting our crown molding back up in the living room. We had taken it down over a year ago when we drywalled the ceiling and never put it back up. Mitch wasn't sure if he should do it when everything was totally done, but thankfully he decided the other day that he could throw it back up there now. It was driving me crazy because there was a line of red (a previous wall color) at the very top of the walls. Not pretty. Kinda reminded me of this.

Your eye just can't help it--it goes right to that hot mess.

After he had it up though, the molding was really rough looking. That's what happens when it's thrown in the basement for over a year. Yikes!

So I painted it. I've been on this painting kick lately. Not too long ago, I couldn't stand the tediousness of painting trim and all that jazz, but now I kinda like it. It's relaxing, in a weird way. (hey I take what I can get these days)

Looks SOOOO much better! And I'm lovin' the color we chose for our walls--it's Ben Moore Titanium--a barely there grayish blue. So calming, don't ya think?

That's what we've been up to this past weekend. I'm hoping to get some trim painted out in the renovation this week. I'll keep ya posted! What did you get done this weekend?

  1. A coat of paint really does wonders doesn't it? I can't wait until we're at the trim stage, tediousness and all.
