We Need to Talk

No, I'm not breaking up with you cause that would just be ridiculous. I love you guys too much to end it. That's why I blog, after all. You're why I blog. I love that people visit this little blog of mine from all over the world (which blows my mind) to catch a glimpse of what's happenin' here in my little corner. Granted, I'm in no wise breaking any records (but my own) when it comes to stats here, but I am excited with where I'm at readership-wise and am hoping for even better days ahead. That being said, I do have a bone to pick. This whole blogging relationship is starting to feel a little one sided. I'm beginning to feel like that fat kid who jacks his pants up a little too high and gets picked last for kickball in middle school gym class. In other words, I'm feeling a little left out. I just need some affirmation from you guys that you like what you see. Do you love a certain project? How did you tweak that recipe? Should I be jogging instead of eating a doughnut? (don't answer that) And how does one do such a thing, you ask? Leave me a comment. I thrive on comments! They make my day, bring a smile to my face, make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

So could ya/would ya do that for me? Tell me when you love something or heck, even if you hate it (just be nice). It'd sure make me feel like we had something special goin' for us;) I know some of you are local buddies (hey Mabel) and don't have google accounts--that's fine. You can always go under "Anonymous" and show me some love. Just remember to leave your name at the end of your comment so I know who you are. And I can find you and flatten your tire if you don't like my mother's recipe for mashed potatoes.

Even a thumb's up on Facebook would make me grin like Jim here.

Now I must thank those of you who already leave comments. You know who you are (vanessa). You're the double stuff in my oreo. And thanks everyone for visiting day in and day out--you're awesome. So here's to a more meaningful relationship and those perfectly smooth kickball pitches where you can send one sailing over "too cool Cal" in center field. Wha...?? Who's gettin' picked last now?

  1. Bah! That's hilarious. I don't comment on every post, but I've commented before...I love so much of what you do! Thanks for spending the time to share it with us. :)

  2. You know, I'm great at commenting on the blogs of people I actually know but for some reason horrible at commenting on random blogs of people I don't know - but I should know better because my favorite comments are always from people who just randomly found me. So, hi! :) I promise to start commenting more often (on both yours and other blogs of people I don't know...this was a good reminder!)

  3. Okay, so our hubs went to PCC and played bball together. Somehow Jon found your blog through Mitch, and I've been a fan since :) I've told Jon probably 10x's that I think we'd be friends, your humor-right up my alley and your love of a steal of a deal-oh yeah! So I'm taking this post as an invite to friendship! I've been waiting so long for you to ask! ;)

    1. Is this Jon that I played b-ball with Jon Skelly? There were a few Jon's on the team over the years. Just trying to make the connection.

  5. Never learned how to comment but I read all the time. Thanks for the instructions. Also always like to see the latest antics of the grandbabies, the latest purchase at Goodwill (my favorite store), and the updates on the house. Quite a few of my friends are reading too but I don't think they knew how to comment either. Gotts tell them! Just keep it up, it brightens our day.

  10. I like your blog. I like the antique light that you hung above your kitchen sink. I don't like that you tempt me with Hershey's Chocolate Chip cookies because I email the recipe to myself and stop by the grocery store on the way home from work and make them! Thanks for creativity and the ideas you share. I read daily!

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Cindy...really appreciate it! Now as far as the cookies go, I'll take credit for their awesomeness but not their calorie count:)

  11. I stop by daily to see if you have anything new but never comment because I feel like whatever I say will sound stupid. And plus when I read your blog its just when Ive woken up. The motor skills arent working yet! Keep up the good work!

    1. I think probably more than half of what I have to say is stupid! Mornings are the worst, aren't they? Thanks for reading:)

  12. Yes, Ma'am! Hee. Sometimes it takes me several days to get to my favorite blogs for commenting. So long as you're cool with an small absence and then a bundle of comments all at once.
Love your blog, though. I think you have amazing taste.

  13. I'm a new reader here ....i think I found you via something on pinterest...oh I think it was about using wood - looking vinyl plank flooring...Anywho. I love your blog and your writers voice (not snotty like so many other home blogs). You are humble and approachable and easy to read my dear! And thank goodness for bloggers who are godly without wearing it like badge to an exclusive club. I have been reading your whole blog now in reverse order just to catch up with who you are. Thanks for what you are doing! I'm a long- time thrifter so your scores make me smile.
