Side Table Makeover

We had this blah-ish side table in our living room begging for a makeover. So this past weekend I finally got around to painting it. Here's the before.

I got this table at GW a while ago along with a matching coffee table. What sold me on it was this marble top. I'm a sucker for marble.

And after. I think a little bit of paint went a long way in this project.

I love how the hardware is more prominent now.

I used Behr self priming semi-gloss in Nature Retreat. (only one coat!) And that little silver cup I bought for 75 cents at a antique store the other day...so cute, right?

Have you painted anything recently? Or maybe you have something on your "list" to makeover...hope this project will inspire you!

  1. I am dying over the lamp and side table combo! Love those colors together and the table looks amazing. My living room needs a makeover but I'm not good at changing my living room up. Any other room I can do but my LR I freeze. Maybe I should start looking for a lamp like yours to get started.

  4. First your makeover of the table is just perfect! Second, your photos are awesome -- great styling, nice textures with the throw on the back of the couch and the basket on the floor. I like how you took the picture low too! Very professional looking. I feel like a proud mom or something. :)

  6. Love the color! Did you use a glaze at all after you painted? I have a dresser to repaint and I was contemplating Annie Sloan chalk paint because you don't have to sand or prime but it looks like you were able to accomplish the same thing with the Behr paint. Great job!

  8. So pretty! You have a gift for seeing the potential in things, for sure.

What do you use to paint...brush, spray, those black spongy brushes? I want to repaint and put a coating on my bookcase because I'm not crazy about how I can see the brush strokes in the paint...not sure the best way to go about it.

Any ideas would be great! Great job on another beautiful project, Kat!

  10. Wow- this came out amazing! I love the transformation and the color you chose! I recently painted some walls and plan to use the leftover paint for stenciling some drapery panels! This has definitely inspired me to get in gear!
