Random Giveaway Just 'Cause You're Awesome

Because you guys are the bomb, I mentioned having a giveaway yesterday. Well here it is:

Pampered Chef's Deep Covered Baker
(value: $85)

The following is directly off Pampered Chef's website:

In cranberry! Bake a 5-lb. chicken or turkey breast, 4-lb. roast, casseroles and more! Unglazed on the inside for perfect baking, glazed on the outside for perfect presentation. Lid inverts into baker for space-saving storage. 12 1/2" x 9 1/2" x 5 1/2", 12 1/2 cups.

About Stoneware:
  • Evenly distributes heat and draws moisture away from the surface
  • Retains heat, so your just-out-of-the-oven foods stay hot longer
  • Virtually nonporous, so it doesn't retain oils, odors or flavors
  • Microwave-, freezer-, and conventional and convection oven-safe

And this baker could be all yours. Here's how you enter for a chance to win:

1. Leave a comment telling me your favorite party recipe. What's your go-to appetizer, finger food, dessert, or even drink that's always a hit with your buds?

2. Be a follower of this blog--either through google friend connect or through Facebook and leave a comment telling me you are.

3. Facebook, tweet, or blog about this giveaway for a second entry and leave a separate comment telling me you did.

That's it. You get three chances to win this beautiful baker. I have a ton of recipes to use with this--including an awesome chili that has a corn bread bottom that you bake right in the microwave. Yeah, pretty cool. I'll include those recipes with the baker. So spread the word and good luck!! U.S. and Canadian friends only. I'll pick and announce a winner on Wed., Feb 8.

  1. Hmm... favorite appetizer you say? That's hard to choose, but I'm gonna go with Taco Layer Dip. Refried beans on the bottom topped with sour cream, cheese, lettuce and tomato, served with tortilla chips of course!

  10. An easy, but very tasty, appetizer is a Taco cheese dip...it tastes AMAZING, and had I not tasted it before I learned the 2 (yes only TWO) ingredients, I don't think I would have tried it. They sound "bizarre" together, but they are DELICIOUS! In fact, I made it less than a week ago, and my guests couldn't believe it when I told them what it was made of (because it was so delicious AND so simple): 1 bar (softened) cream cheese, and 1 can of chili. Yes, that's it! Serve with tortilla chips and watch your guests be AMAZED. Sounds weird, I know. Don't knock it until you try it!

  22. My friend has one of these and loves it. She just brought it to a dinner at church a couple of weeks ago actually and I was admiring it. ;) One of my go to recipes would have to be potato skins. Bake your potatoes. Then cool long enough so you can handle them. Cut them in half and scoop out potato. I normally leave a decent amount but whatever you prefer. Coat with melted butter with a little salt added in. Bake with cut side up for 6 or so minutes on 450* till they start to brown around edges. Then fill with shredded cheddar cheese and chopped bacon and bake until cheese is melted. Serve with sour cream. Chives are good in the sour cream also. The original recipe is from a Top Secret Restaurant cookbook and is a TGIF recipe but now I just wing it. :) Hope you try it sometime and thanks for the giveaway! :)

  23. My favorite dish to take to a party is spinach dip served in round bread. Or I like to take my healthy version of cookies: fresh ground wheat flour and sucuanat sugar in place of white flour and white sugar. Drinks??? I never have a good one for that.

  34. Ohhh that looks like a neat pan! I don't have any PC cookware. I have lots of yummy apps but a recent one that I made was a hit....1 c of diced vidalia onion, 1c mayo, 1 cup parmesan cheese. Mix all together & bake for 20 min. Serve w/crackers or beer bread, yum!! I know it sounds like an odd mix but everyone loved it and you couldn't tell there was onion in it.

  35. I make a drink that is a can of orange juice, 1 liter of ginerale and 3/4 c. sugar, fill rest with water until you have a gallon. It is also a hit.

  37. Now that I am working full-time I have to be simple with my entertaining. My go-tos are chips, salsa and guacamole, veggies and dip and or hummus and a new favorite- ice cream pie. I make a chocolate cookie crust with chocolate animal crakers, sugar and butter; top it with softened ice cream, diced up candy bar, caramel or chocloate sauce and, whipped crean and sprikles for fun.

  39. It's an adult and kid friendly appetizer--brown sugar smokies http://allrecipes.com/recipe/brown-sugar-smokies/detail.aspx. Take the little hot dogs, wrap them in bacon and sprinkle with brown sugar and then bake. Buffalo chicken dip served with tortilla chips and celery is a close second.

  44. Hey! I enjoy reading your blog, especially the before and afters of your house projects. You are so creative and have such a great eye!
Ok, here's my go to recipe:
    Cheesecake bites
    2 crescent pkgs
    2 bars of cream cheese
    1 stick butter
    1 cup sugar
    1 T vanilla
    Cinnamon/sugar

Roll out one of the crescents into a 13x9 pan. Beat together softened cream cheese, butter, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Spread over crescent. Place second crescent on top. Sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar. Bake at 350 for about 25 min or until golden brown. Cool and then chill overnight. Cut and enjoy!

    Judi :)
