Ryder's New Bed

If you follow MLST on Facebook, I told you briefly that Ryder got a new bed (that is actually an oldie) but let me tell ya the whole story behind this sweet find. The boys and I went for a walk in the woods last week when the weather was gorg. Here's the path to the woods past our neighbor's house.

And while we were passing our neighbor's burn pile (yeah, we're hicks around here and burn our trash) I noticed a sweet lookin' metal bed thrown in there. "What the crap is that doing in there?" were pretty much my exact words. I texted my neighbor and she said I could have it. Sweet, right? Still have no idea why a metal bed was in the burn pile, and it's not my concern anymore cause I saved it from impending doom and now it's in a place of prominence in Ry's room. (oh yeah, I'm a poet)

This is what the bed and his room looked like prior. The bed was a goldish brassy color that I thought might work, but decided to spray it after all. It was too fake gold looking, know what I mean? And notice the lovely wall color and "art." Ryder loves doing crafts (i.e. color a picture) and he proudly displays them all over his walls. That's going to change soon--another idea we're pumped about! We just finished painting his room Ben Moore Thunder (Isn't that a funny name--BM Thunder?) and his room is coming right along. (you can check out here what this room used to look like as a nursery.)

That's all I'm going to show you at this time. We have big, exciting plans in the works and I want to knock your socks off in the end. This reveal might take a little while so sit tight. But don't worry, I'm sure I'll have 73 other projects to show you in the mean time.

  5. I am sure Ryder must be pretty happy after getting a new bed, metal beds are more durable and best for kids, you also don't have to worry about problems like termites and bed bugs.
