Representin' the Boys

Having grown up with four brothers, and now having two boys of my own, I've never been much of a girly-girl. Saying that, I'm not all tomboy either. I do enjoy my fair share of girly-ness: flowers, pedicures, cute shoes, and even some pink from time to time. But what I really love when it comes to interior design is a masculine room. Now don't think all log cabin, or a dark wood paneled library with cigar smoke wafting through it, or stuffed dead animals posing as trophies (although I do enjoy a nice set of racks...okay not those kind of racks...get your mind outta the gutter.) These kind:

I love a room that reads masculine. Not over-the-top, in-yo'-face sports gear thrown all over it, but a room with some girly-ness here and there in maybe an accent: flowers on the table, a "girly" print fabric, or some visual softness (i.e. flowy curtains) somewhere. This is what I mean.

So how about you? Are you all girl when it comes to decorating? Or do you enjoy your share of masculinity in a room? I just can't get enough of it right now. I might be in a little trouble if we ever have a girl.

  1. I love all of these looks so I guess you could say I like the mix of the two! Beautiful, beautiful room images to tell your story. xo

  2. Girl, we are speaking the same language.

I am definitely a boy when it comes to decorating!

  3. I too love a touch of masculine in design, gorgeous inspirations today Kat.

  4. these pictures and spaces are amazing-- I totally dig your style :)

  5. I don't understand why so many of your older posts have errors for pictures....did the pinterest boards get deleted? It's a shame, because I love your style and want to see your inspiration! :)

    1. Yes, early on bloggers embedded Pinterest images into their posts, then the links started to fail (not sure why). I'll have to go back through these pictures and upload them another way. Sorry! I'll get crackin' on that soon.
