Now while I loved the fabric covered button tufting, it didn't stay like that for long. You see, the fabric I chose to cover this with is reversible. Which means, it's doubly thick, i.e. not good for covering buttons. So literally like the day after Mitch and I completed this project, the button covers were coming off. Very sad. So eventually I just undid the tufting. Even sadder. Tufting is what set this guy apart--it was the cream cheese icing on a carrot cake, the double stuff of an oreo, that chunk of Reese's peanut butter cup you bite into in your Blizzard--I loved it. But what's a girl to do? So a while later at my local fabric store, I saw metal buttons that just-so-happened to coordinate with the nailhead trim (another feature I totally love). So...anyway, last night, we finally got around to re-tufting my baby. And here she blows.
Baby, she's back.
I don't think I have ever seen the metal buttons, super cool!
ReplyDeleteLove the buttons and the fabric. You might inspire me to redo my ottoman.
