Bookcases

I'm sitting here in my living room looking at a number of books around me. There are children's books strewn on the floor, jammed into our expedit bookcase, and tossed on our side tables. Books can easily overtake a space if you're not an organized person. And you know I'm the first to admit that's not my forte.at.all. Ryder is pretty good about tidying up, but Bryce just walks over to the bookcase and starts pickin' and chuckin'. Hopefully he'll grow out of that soon enough and start to love books. I try to keep a fresh influx to keep their interest so almost every time I go to Goodwill I'll bring home some more books to add to their collection (they're 27 cents at my GW, seriously how can I not?) So now I really need to corral the clutter and give those books a decent home. Hence, bookcases are on the brain right about now and here are some I just pinned.

What I love about all these bookcases is color. Whether the bookcase is painted a bright, fun color or simply the books themselves are freshly hued, I'm all about color when you're talking children's books. I have a piece of furniture (some sort of shelf thing) waiting to be made into a scute (that's super and cute combined--yeah, just made that up.) bookcase. I'd show ya a pic, but since my camera crapped out the other day, it's gonna have to wait. But the above pics are my inspiration. Maybe I'll line the back with fun wallpaper or paint it a fresh color. Either way, I'm hoping it'll look scute and keep our books somewhat organized. Where do you store all your books?
