Cheery Distractions

I can't get this cute little dresser out of my head. I saw it at a thrift store the other day. I could totally build a whole nursery around this puppy.

Check it out at this angle. The wooden side detail (see those slats?) is such a nice touch. This dresser compels me to furrow my eyebrows while protruding my lower lip and saying "aww" with an inflection in my voice. That's literally the face I make every time I look at this little ray of sunshine. Need I mention the scalloped skirt on the front? Too stinkin' precious. And admire with me, if you will, the little casters on the bottom. I can hear them squeaking now as this beauty is being rolled away into someone else's life.

I would totally keep this little guy on there. I have a soft spot in my heart for vintage art. You have to admit he's super cute. Look at those rosy chubbers for cheeks!

I would use this dresser as a changing table while utilizing the drawers for storage. Can't you just imagine baskets filled with all the little baby necessities tucked away inside those drawers? And then I'd frame these alphabet prints (or copies of them) for art around the room. Again, love vintage art. I found them in this book the same day I spotted the dresser. I did buy the book. I couldn't resist.

I know...I'm crazy. Planning a nursery now. No, I'm not pregnant, and yes, we have a million and one projects going on around the house, and all I can think about is this vintage-inspired nursery. Distractions: we all have them I suppose. Well, hope your distractions brighten your day like this one does mine.

  1. I admit, as I was reading down through, I thought you were leading up to a big announcement!! LOL I do like that dresser. I never used a changing table with my baby's, just too impractical. But that I could see using as it would grow with the child into a small dresser.

  2. I can imagine it because that is EXACTLY what I want for a one day nursery. I can't find one anywhere like it, doesn't matter I won't be needing it anytime soon!
