Broken Bones and Little Bumps

We had an eventful week last week. First Bryce broke two bones in his leg. Yeah, fun times. I don't really know how it happened. But Ryder was the culprit for sure. He said he "threw the stool on him." Which who knows what actually happened. We have a glider ottoman in our room and I think Bryce must have been lying on top of that and Ryder came behind and pushed the ottoman and B went flying. That's what I think anyway. In any case, Bryce broke his tibia and fibula. Can you see it? The tibia is the fatter bone. That one split all the way through. And the fibula is the smaller bone on the left. You can see at the top a little splinter break. Poor guy.

It's remarkable that Bryce is the first one in our family to have a broken bone. Neither Mitch or myself have ever broken anything. (knock on wood) And we've both played tons of sports all our lives. I guess we are the fortunate ones. Poor Bryce has to be the first to experience it. But he was amazing. Even when the doctor was checking him out, he was laughing. When the PA came in to put the cast on, Bryce just chilled there on the bed holding Mitch's phone. The PA was amazed and said this was his easiest patient ever.

Here he is ready to get up and get movin'.

Isn't that the cutest little cast you've ever seen?

So that happened and then (and most of you probably already know) we found out that I'm expecting again.  Yeah, I know, I just had a post about nurseries and whatnot here, but I can assure you I didn't know I was pregnant then. So, now we've got to finish all of our projects before the baby arrives in late Sept. That's a good thing. Now we have a deadline. We're excited and scared at the same time. It's chaos here some days already and there's going to be another one thrown into the mix! But we feel very blessed and thankful that the Lord has blessed us with another little life to care for. Told ya it was an eventful week. So what's new with you?

  1. That cast is pretty cute! My nephew Grant, who is 3, broke his foot right before he turned 3 in November. His break required surgery, but he did so well and he's just fine now. Kids bounce back so easily!!

    Congrats on Baby H #3 :)

Nothing really new here. Played racquetball with my guy for the first time ever last week. Wow. I need to learn the rules! lol
