Christmas this Year

This is my new favorite Christmas song. I listened to it like 13 times in a row last night. It's super catchy. So go ahead and click play. I promise you'll be bee-boppin' along as I share my cookie making experience from yesterday with ya.

First up, Pecan Tassies. We made all of these cookies over at my friend Jess's house because my oven is a piece of crap fussy one. I have to turn it down at least 25 degrees AND underbake them. I seriously can't make cookies in my oven. They usually come out hard as a rock. And who wants to eat rock cookies when you can have delicious ones like these.

Then we made Peanut Butter Blossoms. Mitch doesn't like these. Seriously. Which amazes me because he can eat pretty much anything. He's not a fan of the kisses. That's all right. More for me.

Snickerdoodles. These are yum. They're nice and crunchy. And cinnamon-y. Good milk dunkers.

So I was trying out my up-close picture taking. Turned out pretty good, huh? You can see the individual grains of sugar. Sweet. (No pun intended.)

Then some good ol' sugar cookies. We didn't feel like icing them so they're just plain.

And then, I made some Oreo Balls. Never made them before but I've been hearing some amazing things about them so I gave them a shot. Okay, I must admit, I didn't take this picture. Mine were a little more "rustic" looking. Well they still tasted amazing. And these are the ones I'm bringing to a cookie exchange on Sat. They're like little truffles. Super easy too.

And just in case you were wondering what we did with the kids...

Happy weekend!
