People used to embroider a lot of things back in the day. One common item was embroidered pillowcases. I would have loved to have rested my head on lovelies like these growing up.
This one is a tea towel. It's just too stinkin' cute in all its '50s flair.
This is a quilt that Mitch's Mom and Grandmother made when Ry was a baby. Isn't it precious?
Sometimes I have to remind myself that I live in a houseful of boys. And sometimes I just ignore that fact and buy something girly anyway. When I saw these embroidered flowers at GW a few months ago I couldn't resist. With a little creamy white paint on those frames, they'll make the perfect vignette in
my a little girl's room.
Switching gears a little bit but still on the topic of stitching, I must share a few pics of Ryder's stitches he received after diving head-first into a truck bumper. Here he is pre-removal.
Daddy's holding him as we're getting ready for removal. He was pretty good, I must admit. He took it like a champ. Not so much the putting-them-in part though. Poor guy.
Post-removal picture. Gotta love the face. Oh and of course the hair.
So whether you want a pillow, quilt, or just your stitches taken out, it pays to have a friend with a steady hand.
