Pendant Light

I've had my eye on these pendant lights from Pottery Barn for a long time. I imagined two of them hanging above my kitchen island. What I love about these particular pendants is their clear glass dome.

Since I have a very tall hubby, I didn't want anything with color that you couldn't see through. That would be really annoying always having to move out of the way in order to see across the room. Plus I just love their simple shape and the filament bulb is fab. So I've been checking the PB outlet for these. I was so excited a couple months ago when I walked in and saw my precious light staring right back at me. These lights go for $99 in the PB catalog--although I looked them up this morning and they're on sale for $79. So when I saw this light for $25 at the outlet, I gobbled that puppy right on up. As I was looking it over on the way up to the register, I noticed the slightest ding out of the glass globe. So I decided to ask for a discount. Never be afraid to ask--there's no harm in asking, right? So the lady gave me an additional 40% off! Score for me. I was so thrilled at my find that I thought, "Hey since I was able to get this one at such a good price, I can afford to buy the other one at regular price." Like my logic? Well needless-to-say, my cheap self held out hoping to find another one some day at the outlet. That day was last night. And this one is in perfect condition. Paid $25. I'm excited to hang these up--it'll be a little while since we're doing a lot of renovating at the moment. Can't wait to show you the finished product!

I also spotted this light at the outlet. It was a sweet deal at $25 too. It's no longer available from the PB catalog.
And this light I almost got last night. I'm looking for a pendant to put above my bathtub. I had to call Mitch on this one 'cause it was $50.

I think it would have looked awesome but Mitch wasn't sold. I kinda regret not getting it. They only had one and a few minutes after I called M, someone bought it. Shoot. Will I forever regret not jumping on it? This is what it looks like hanging over a tub.

For more pics of this bathroom check out this blog.
Crap, yeah I do regret not getting it. Well maybe they'll have another one at the outlet some day. Keep your fingers crossed for me, would ya?

  1. I LOVE the second two lights! Yes, you should have gotten the star, but maybe when you find it next time it will be another 40% off and you will be glad you passed on it the first time.

  5. Oh I will definitly be keeping my fingers crossed for you for that other light because I LOVE it! So cute. I found you on the blog hop and am loving your blog. Although this post is totally making me miss stores! We just moved to a remote island in the middle of the Bering Sea from Pennsylvania 2 months ago and well, there are NO stores. Okay we do have a grocery store and a ship supply store...but that's it. And unfortunatly most online stores wont ship here. So I am going to follow you blow and live vicariously through you :)
Stop over at my blog and check me out.
    Thanks-
