Chairs: Before and After

So I decided that I had had enough of my nasty stained seat covers in my dining room. Okay when I say dining room I actually mean the living room with a spot for our table. Can't wait to have a separate eating space. We're working on that. But anyway, getting back to the nasty seat covers--I decided they needed to be changed pronto and I just happened to have some burlap lying around. I do love burlap right now. And plus it's the color of dirt--perfect for a family! Score. Here's what my seats looked like before.

Told ya they were nasty. I just gave up cleaning them. So as I was recovering them, I decided I wanted to do a little staging of my dining table. I was so excited about this. I ran next door to my in-laws' house & barn to see what "props" I could borrow. Came home with some fall colored napkins, silverware from Mitch's great grandmother, and some glass leaf dishes. And here are my new seats and a dining room table ready for a mini dinner party.

I just love the sparkle from the glass and silver. It's a nice contrast next to the textured burlap. With the leftover burlap from the chairs I just roughly cut a runner for the table. Did you notice the view out our windows? Love it. This is one thing I will miss when we move our eating area. It's so nice sitting there and looking out the window as we eat. (I make it sound so peaceful at dinner time--what actually goes on is pretty much total chaos trying to get Ryder to eat his food and B screaming for more. But a girl can dream, can't she?) So there's my transformation. I had to take everything down after the "photo shoot" because Ry kept blowing out the candles and I knew something was going to get broken. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.
